ARC 2 is the latest phase of the University of Leeds initiative to provide a large-scale centralised advanced research computing (ARC) service. Its purpose is to support researchers across the University in a range of research disciplines.

All faculties subscribe to a sustainability plan to regularly invest and update the ARC infrastructure in order to support, build and maintain a world-class research facility.

What's different from Arc1?

Accessing the facility

To apply for an account, please use the standard Username Application form available from the ISS Helpdesk. It needs to be countersigned by one of these AuthorisedSignatures?.

Please include the name of the project and details of your supervisor/project PI on the form.

When you have completed the form and had it countersigned please return it to User Administration, ISS via the internal mail.

Once the account is created you will receive an email subscribing you to the users mailing list. At this point you should be able to use your University credentials to gain access.

The processed form will be returned to the authorised signatory to be returned to you.

Using ARC2

The following sections will give you more information on using the system.
